Amazing Thailand

October 25, 2008

Thailand is indeed an ideal place for everyone. Regardless of race or nationality, Thailand is one of the best places to live in. In fact, many tourists from faraway countries love to visit the land because of a number of must-go tourist destinations and the irresistably must-taste, mouth-watering, sweet and spicy Thai foods. Moreover, Thai people are very friendly, polite and trustworthy. Rest assured, a lost tourist can reach his or her destination safe and sound. Another good thing about Thailand is the safety of the people especially the tourists. Unlike in other countries, Thailand is a safer place to stay. Walking along the streets with jewelry on, with wallet in the pocket and with a backpack on is nothing to worry about. The place is safe from robbers, swindlers and holduppers. Criminal cases of this nature is comparatively minimal.

Meanwhile, learning the Thai language even for some immigrants is never easy. In my stay here in Thailand, learning the Thai language has been a lot easier because of the presence of my Thai tutor. I now know how to read and write in Thai calligraphy. If one would really take time to study the language, he or she could master the foreign language in no time.

Now that I am already equipped with a little knowledge of the Thai language and with my passion in Thai foods, I believe it is really to my advantage in surviving fairly well while away from my motherland. Thailand could be the second place I would gladly love to call my “home”.

Yuki

July 24, 2008

When I was still in college, I stayed in a pad just a walking distance from my school. I was alone in my pad and I’m the only student in the building. It is a six-storey building and my unit was at the second floor.

I had this neighbor at the next door who was a dancer in Japan.  When she arrived home from Japan, she bought this dog, a Chinese Chow Chow,  named “Yuki” who had been a pet to everyone in the building. Yuki came as a little puppy with sharp, loud barks at night which echoes in the whole floor. He has a blue tongue, a pair of black round eyes and brown shiny fur. I adore Yuki so much because a dog like him is rare in the town. In fact, he was the first and only Chinese Chow Chow in the city’s registry.

After few months, Yuki grew up and looked like a frightening lion because of his fuzzy look. And his roars became louder and deafening. Outsiders and visitors who wanted to go upstairs really had hard time to pass through the second floor because of Yuki’s frightening roars and lion-like appearance. Often, people mistakenly believe we have a lion in the building. Funny but cute, isn’t he? Yuki became residents’ friend and security  guard since his favorite pasttime was lying on the top of the stairs. And when people see him there, they hesitate to go up and would rather choose to stay outside.

This is just a simple offer to my favorite pet, “Yuki”. I missed him so much! I’m hoping to see you again Yuki when I get home.

Full-Pledged Nurse

April 5, 2008

Before we can practice our profession as nurses, we must take and pass the licensure examinations and must take oath before a panel of authorised representatives from the regulation commission or a legal body.

So, we took the exams and then had our oath-taking ceremony last March 27, 2007 at the Redemptorist Church, Cebu City. Now, we can claim our licenses and legally practice our profession. =)

"Faraway From Me" sang by Soulstring

Hi everyone!

I have something new to tell you.

I heard a song a few days ago that really captured my attention. I listened very well and internalized its message. It tells a story of a guy who loves someone who’s never meant for him. He is madly in love with the girl and he wants to get over her but he can’t, since he can’t take her off his mind. The song is called “Faraway From Me” because he wants the girl to be far away from him so he can get rid of her.

And before I forget, the band who composed and sang that song is a fellow Cebuano. The band is also from Cebu, Philippines and I am so proud of the members’ talents, their work of art. They named themselves the “Soulstring”.

If you are interested to listen to the song I am talking about, just search it on Youtube.com. I hope you will also appreciate it like I do.

God bless! mwahh

I had a terrible headache!

Good day to all!

Again, I’m on a graveyard shift today. I had so many patients today so I never felt bored and dozy during my entire 12-hour duty. But sad to say, at around 3 o’clock in the morning in our time my headache really disturbed me. Though it is my duty as the company nurse to give medications to the sick employees, I did not take any pain relievers because I don’t want my body to tolerate any medication. I just want to strengthen my pain threshold or my pain tolerance by just having non-pharmacologic interventions like distraction. Distraction is simply diverting the attention of a person who is experiencing pain or depression. So what I did were I went to the pantry and ate a heavy meal of rice and fried pork, I finished encoding the employee’s files, I edited and updated my Friendster account just to divert my attention, and I also made this blog since I’m done with my tasks at this time already.

The pain is still there but somehow, I felt a lot better now.

Now a Registered Nurse after passing the board exams!

February 26, 2008

Good morning, friends!

I’m back and glad to blog about the recent turn of events in my life. I’m just so happy and proud to say that I’m now a registered nurse, finally!

I was very fortunate and felt so blessed because I successfully passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Nurses, which I took last December 1-2, 2007 here in Cebu City, Philippines. Although I wasn’t really confident enough of my answers and responses to all the questions, yet, the only thing that kept me strong and optimistic was my FAITH in GOD above.

Everyday I prayed that He would let me pass the exams somehow and would give me strength to accept whatever the results may be. But look at what He has done! He answered my prayer!

I’m so thankful for this and for all the blessings He has given me. There’s no prayer I have and had that He didn’t answer. It may not be given or answered the way I wanted, but rather, it was all answered in a much better way than what I expected. He may not answer all our calls and pleas right there and then, yet, He surely does in His own time. So, I’ve waited patiently because I know that GOD’s time is never late, it always strikes at the right time.

So, here’s my piece of advice—when you pray, take time to listen to His answer. Be patient and be sensitive to every little thing that happens because you might never know that in those little things GOD has already given you the answer.

And I want to say “Thank You” to those who prayed for me, too. Even then, we must still continue praying. For all the good things He has done and for all those that He has yet to do, let us praise and pray!

GOD BLESS US ALL!

Because of You by Kelly Clarkson

February 21, 2008

I really love this song because of its meaning. This was sung by Kelly Clarkson who won in the American Idol. Please read its lyrics and try to internalize its message. The song goes this way…

Because Of You

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
And I will not let myself
Cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did
You fell so hard
I’ve learned the hard way
To never let it get that far

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don’t get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me
But everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I lose my way
And it’s not too long before you point it out
I can not cry
Because I know that’s weakness in your eyes
I’m forced to fake a smile, a laugh
Everyday of my life
My heart can’t possibly break
When it wasn’t even whole to start with

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don’t get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me
But everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I watched you die
(I watched you die)
I heard you cry
Every night in your sleep
(In your sleep)
I was so young
(I was too young for you)
You should have known better than to lean on me
(To lean on me)
You never thought of anyone else
(You never saw me)
You just saw your pain
And I cry in the middle of the night
For the same damn thing

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don’t get hurt
Because of you
I try my hardest just to forget everything
Because of you
I don’t know how to let anyone else in
Because of you
I’m ashamed of my life because it’s empty
Because of you
I am afraid
Because of you, ooh
Because of you, ooh, ooh

Today is Sunday! =)

February 3, 2008

Good morning to all! What a beautiful Sunday!!!

Today is Sunday so this is our rest day. But sad, I have a work today. Well, I’m planning to go to church this afternoon after work to attend the mass and hopefully can have a deep rest at home afterwards.

Well, anyways, it has been rumored all over the country that today will be the release of the Philippine Nursing Board Exam results. I’ll be praying and will keep on praying for positive results that I may pass and top in the exam which I took last December 2007. That’s what I’m always praying for, and I’m hoping and praying that our Heavenly Father will hear my plea.

Please do pray for it also. =)

Thanks!

Have a good day!
